About 6 to 8 miles outside of town there is this telephone pole that some men put a platform on. Beth said it is so the osprey can build their nest. We have went by there many times and we haven't seen a bird in there until today! Beth stopped and of course took some pictures. They are REALLY big birds! From what I found out on Google -- they are one of the largest birds of prey in North America. AND they eat fish! They have barbed pads on the soles of its feet to grip the fish better. They dive feet first into the water. And when they bring the fish to the nest they put the fish in there head first. They have a wingspan of up to 54"! The picture of it flying I got from the Internet the others Beth took. They are such cool birds! We are lucky we got to see them! Sponge Bob is on! Later -- Remington -- The Bird Dog -- out!
