February 2 is the day we all wait
to see if winter is almost over.
Every year the world turns its attention to learn
the prediction of Punxsutawney Phil.
(He is a groundhog that lives in Pennsylvania....)
At sunrise, if Phil sees his shadow,
legend has it that we can expect
six more weeks of winter weather.
No shadow indicates an early spring.
Well, Phil, it's all in your paws now!
Later -- Remington --
I hope we have a little more winter
-- out!
News Alert!
This just in....
Punxsutawney Phil
predicts early spring.
Punxsutawney Phil made his 125th annual
weather forecast at approximately 7:25 a.m.
in front of thousands of revelers
on a tiny hill in Pennsylvania.
After Phil emerged at about dawn Wednesday,
his handlers announced that the animal failed
to see his shadow and is therefore
predicting an early spring.

Well we would like winter to be over Remington, at least the humans would.
When we were out our walk yesterday it was bitterly cold and we think more snow is on the way here - Spring will come soon!

We hope Phil knows how to make all dogs and humans happy at the same time!
I figured with all the bad weather around, he wouldn't see his shadow. I know a lot of people will be happy for an early spring!!

That news makes us very happy. We haven't had much snow here but just bitterly cold temperatures most of this winter. An early spring sounds great nice! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Given the current weather in big parts of the States at the moment, that is good news indeed!
Hey Rem! #1 and I watched a TV programme last night about Newfies who work with lifeguards in the Italian lakes, and jump into the water from great heights (helicopters) to save people. Awesome!!!
Woofs,
Tommy
Yay for early spring!!!!!!

Remi,
It's a good thing you weren't standing near Phil, he would have seen your shadow, and then six more weeks of Winter. Let's hope that he is actually right and the weather calms down now!
Or not !
:-)

Yes!!! Sorry for you, Rem, but happy for us!! Once again, my intrepid reporter friend, an excellent job of keeping me informed before I even saw it on the news!!
I am READY for warmer days! A high for the day of -3 (yesterday)is too cold for me. Even our high of 10 today is too CHILLY. ♥♫
I really do like you, Remington--but how much longer are you going to send me snow?
Mandu
remington, whatttt??? more winter! no way!
Dad says HE wants a job where once a year he wakes up, sticks his head outside and announces whether or not he sees his shadow, gets photographed alot, and then gets to just hang out until the next year!
As much as Mom doesn't like the cold, she never likes to hear that prediction. It just means we are another day closer to 120 degree days!
Sam
We know there are a lot of peeps out there who really need winter to be done - we understand. All we can say is we are thrilled that we got this round of snow - it is awesome.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
No shadow!
Spring is coming... and I am happy for that!
Take care, Remington!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
We're hoping he's wrong and we keep getting more snow and cold!
Holly & Khady
Way to go Phil, spring does sound good right now. But then we have had very little snow, I wouldn't mind one more pile of the white flakes before spring.
Good ol' Phil! Knew we could all count on him :D
Waggin at ya,
Roo
