Paul Bunyan

Today is Paul Bunyan Day.

He was a giant of a man and had a blue ox named Babe.

Here is some history on him for those of you that don't know about him....

*  He created logging in the U.S.

*  He scooped out the great lakes to water Babe, his ox.

* He cleared the entire states of North and South Dakota for farming.

* He trained ants to do logging work. They were, of course, Carpenter Ants.

* Babe's large footprints created Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.

Impressive, huh?  I always wondered how Minnesota got all those lakes.  Makes sense.  I think I want to be a lumberjack when I grow up....However, I do not own an axe and I do not have a blue ox BUT I look pretty good in hats and I have a cute little sister....do you think that counts?

Rem and Mom thank you for that very interesting information...and we thank Paul for making N & S Dakota and Babe for walking around Minnesota...without the two of them we would never had met you and your family.

Ozabella absolutely adores you. I think Mom should submit one of your pictures to Cat or Dog Fancy just to show how loving you two are and that with proper love and car the very large and the very tiny can live together.

Oh, Rem, you are much cuter than that old blue ox!! And that ox would not look nearly as fashionable in hats as you do. You are quite a reasearch dog! I run our church's 24/7 prayer and information line, and I intend to record this for it today. Do you think I should tell them that an adorable lumber jack inspiring dog told me this?

Muzzer and Dad visited his statue in their younger and wilder days. They say I would like it, but I'm sure somedogs would be scared. Be careful with Ozzabella and that axe.

Wow, Babe's large footprints created Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.
My pawprints didn't even create an ounce of puddle.

The tall guy said he had a Bunyan on his foot and that it hurt, so I don't think you want to be a Bunyan either!! :)

I think you would make a good lumberjack. All you would have to do is learn to shout TIMBERRRR when a tree would fall. Then you could find a job for Ozabella in the Cook shack where she could get rid of any mices that were around. Regular job, decent pay and lots of fun.

Kisses,
Stella

I am not sure little Ozabella would like being called "Babe," some girls find that offensive. Also BEFORE you commit to the lumberjack life, as Beth and Mike to show you the Monty Python skit/song about lumberjacks.
