AWESOME weekend!

I had such an awesome weekend
it is going to take me TWO days
to tell you about it!

First!

Let's get a VICTORY dance
going for the VIKINGS!

Vikings 34 -- Lions 24

WELL DONE!

Now my awesome weekend recap....

Friday night Beth and I were sitting
by the fire visiting.  I don't know how
it came up but we started talking about
President U. S. Grant....our 18th President.
We talked on and on and then she said
"Seeing as Ozabella wants us out of the
house tomorrow to get ready for
Coleridge's birthday -- would you like
to go and see President Grant's house?
It's not that far from us...."
I said "Certainly, that sounds like fun!"

The next morning we got up early
and headed out....

The sun looked so pretty as we crossed
the Wisconsin River.

I didn't even ask where we were going and
I was surprised to see we were in....

We went to a town called Galena, IL.

We found his house right away....

We looked around the property and found
a statue of his wife....

 Learning more about history
is so much fun!

I sat on a nice bench and just thought
how neat it was that so many years
ago he was actually right in that house!

There were other beautiful houses also....
this was one of my favorites....

Before we left we went uptown and shopped!
Very unique buildings!

I even met some Generals!

After that our adventure went on....

BUT
until tomorrow you will have
to wait to hear
(as Paul Harvey would say)
the rest of the story....

Later -- Remington --
History ROCKS!
-- out!

GO Vikings!! YAY!
That was a fascinating trip you took and I liked your favorite house, too! :)
So much history in that area of the country, going back hundreds of years! Hard to say that here. Although, from where we are staying you can see THE Tombstone of the Wild West.
You look so handsome with the Generals posing with you!

Hey Remington!
Wow, what a great history trip! My peeps love that kind of stuff too. My Mom was born and raised about 3 1/2 hours from Grant's birthplace near Cincinnati. Really fun to see his IL home. Thanks for letting my pack see that!
BTW: Yippee for your Vikings!
