As you all remember I went to the vet
yesterday because I was limping and
wasn't getting better.
I saw my regular vet and an Orthopedic doctor.
They did a VERY thorough check up
and I also had to walk around a lot for them.
Then they gave me some medicine and I took
a nap. When I woke up Mike and Beth were there
and they had taken a bunch of pictures of my
bones....hips and legs.
Much to EVERYONES surprise
my hips and legs are good to excellant!
Not a thing wrong with them.
However....
I broke my toe....
don't ask me how I did that!
Nothing they can do about it --
it's all up to me!
I need to take some pain medicine and rest.
They said it can take up to days or weeks for
it to heal.
Mike and Beth were really happy....
no, not because I broke my toe but
because it wasn't something really
serious that would require surgery.
THEN we no more than got home and
the door bell rang. A delivery for....
ME!

i am so happpy happy happy that you have a broken toe. wait, i dont mean happy it is broken, but that it is not something much worse and it will heal in time. Madi and I are so very happy you 'only' have a broken toe....well we know it still hurts but at least it isn't as bad as a hip problem!!!

Oh Remington, I am so sorry to hear you broke your toe!!!! It takes forever to heal,, take my word for it!! I broke my big toe in January and still can't put on my dress shoes!!! Broke in January and STILL it hurts!!

It must be a big guy thing... My Dogue De Bordeaux broke his toe by stubbing it on the door jam. Even had to have his toe nail removed... Silly boys! Glad it's nothing serious!!! Hope you are better soon!!!!

Well, Rem, I have been nervously awaiting the results of the doctors today. And I am SO glad!!!! Yippee!! I wish I was there to give you a big kiss. Now i'll tell you something. I broke MY toe when I was a young pup, er, girl! and they said you cannot wear a toe cast! Or a toe sling, either!! It will get better, Rem! The picture of you and Mike is priceless.

Hi Rem, tell your Mom it took Sherman about a week until he wasn't favoring his toe, but to be honest it never healed correctly. It was digit 2 on his front left paw(which would be the toe closest to his dew claw) and the toe sticks out a bit to the side now but not much, it doesn't cause him any pain and you hardly notice it with all the hair.

Bummer about the toe, but we're really glad it wasn't something more serious! When Riley first got diagnosed with hip dysplasia, they had originally thought that she had a broken toe that was making her limp...unfortunately it was her bum hips, so we're REALLY glad that you don't have a major problem like that!!
