He is gone....

 Remington Steal My Heart
January 9, 2009 - March 4, 2013

May you Rest In Peace, my dear friend

Tears are falling and my hands are shaking.  I cannot believe my boy has left on his new journey.

It was a peaceful departure.  He left at 10:20 am.  I know in my heart he is now pain free and smiling again.

We took his body to the crematorium ourselves.  We wanted to be with him during the entire process.  He is now home with us where he belongs.

Of course, strange things happened during the day....snow fell as we went into the vets office....we came out and it stopped....we drove 1 1/2 hours to the crematorium and got out to take him in and it started to snow again....we came out and it stopped....the process took 3 hours.  When we brought him out and we were walking to the car it started snowing again.  We knew this was a sign from him that all was okay.  To top it off we had to stop to pick something up at a store right before we got home.  We walked in and the song 1-2-3-4 by the Plain White T's started as soon as we got in the door.  That was the song I sang to Remington on the way home from picking him up 4 years ago this Wednesday.  Needless to say I just stood there and cried.  Mike said "See he wanted you to know he loved you and he's okay".

Thank you for all the prayers and support you have given us.  And thank you for being a special part of my Remington’s life.  He was an amazing guy….

Beth

He left such a mark on each and every one of us that knew him through your writing and photos. Even Corbin's dad was very upset to hear the news when I got home from work -not many bloggers I tell him about stick in his mind like Remington did. He will never be forgotten.

His posts were always full of fun and great for a laugh! I'm not sure if he knew I checked on his blog often, but I left a comment usually because it made me happy too!
Life will be strange for you both now without your fantastic friend. It was unfair that he had to die so soon in his life, but it was the only thing that could take him away from his pain of the tumour.
I hope you are all fine and recovered, and maybe find a new furry friend soon!
Best wishes for the future,

Hi Beth.. I thought of Remington tonight and how I hadn't checked in in a while.. life had taken me away from blog surfing, little one with an ear infection etc.. but tonight I popped over and am now crying with you. :/ Both sad and happy tears.. sad b/c I have been there and know how it feels, for your loss, and happy ones for Remington b/c not only is he no longer in pain, but b/c he got to live his life with you, and through the blog you shared with all of us, we could see what it means to truly love and care for man's best friend. The story about the snow, and 1-2-3-4 (one of my fav songs) and the Rainbow Bridge.. *sniff* What a beautiful tribute post that he wrote for us. He was an amazing and special guy and I loved visiting his page. I will miss getting to share in his daily antics. I hope if you ever let another Newfie own you, that you will share that love with us too. Hugs and Prayers,
