A touch of winter....

The weather in Minnesota
is starting to get a bit chilly....
-16 below yesterday morning....
yes,
that was without the wind chill....

I still think it is pretty....

Of winter's lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer's secret
Deep down within its heart.

~Charles G. Stater

Later -- Remington
maybe we should get our jackets out of storage
-- out!

Thanks for sending some of your extra snow this direction. It covers up those gifts I was too lazy to pick up from the yard.

You Minnesotans know how to have serious winter, Remington. When it gets to 16 ABOVE zero here, we're really cold. Well, the humans are. I don't mind cold, but your kind of cold might even challenge me.

lotsa licks, Lola

As my mother used to say, "Pretty Is as Pretty Does", and when this pretty freezes your toes off, it somehow isn't quite so pretty. So you can give me 20 degrees above and thats bearable (ask any bear!).

Kisses,
Stella, just down the road from you!

We're in MN too, and hating the weather. At least you have a lot of hair to keep ya warm.

Well, there has to be a limit to how warm your lovely coat keeps you, and I'm thinking you have reached it, brrrr!!! Beautiful pictures to go with the beautiful little poem. Even the tiny bird's house is snowed over! I think I will record that poem on my church prayer line today, it is so lovely! If you call this a bit chilly, I wonder what cold is!! Keep warm, friend!

Minus 16 - yikes!
Having said that, we had similar temperatures about 2 weeks ago.
Don't you think the trees look like there has been foam sprayed on them when it is like that.

The photos are gorgeous! But they do NOT make us want to live there...you hearty Minne-SNOW-dans are tougher stuff than fluffy little old me! Coats, hats, mittens, boots, mufflers, please, we would not want anything to get frostbitten!

Thank you for sending healing energy to my sister, Puff. She is home from her final Heartworm dose at the Vet and now we just believe and hope that in 4 months when she is retested that those icky worms will be gone! We believe that all of your wonderful prayers and purrs and woofs have helped saved her life!

Ummm.... yes, I think you better get those jackets out soon. That's more than "a bit chilly" if you ask me! BOL!
