Big day! 2 parts....

Part One

Vikings vs Bears

7:30

AND they are playing outside --
in Minnesota --
can you believe it?
This will be the Vikings first
outdoor home game since Dec. 20, 1981,
29 years to the day.
They better run fast to keep warm,
that's all I have to say.

AND....
I checked with my shipping department
early this morning and the
order of snow going to Minneapolis
for tomorrow got bumped up
to TODAY!
The Vikings are NOT going
to be very happy with me!

Positive thoughts would be appreciated.
We must hope for the best....
what a year!

Later -- Remington --
the #1 Vikings fan
-- out!

PART 2

Reporting from the RRC...
(Remington Research Center)

Remington the Full Moon Reporter!

Keep your eyes to the sky tonight
(and it will be a long night)
for the
Full Cold Moon.
(I got this picture from the internet)

I sure hope Mike can get a
good picture of it tonight!

How it got it's name is
December is the month the
winter cold fastens its grip.
Sometimes this moon is referred
to as the Full Long Nights Moon
and the term "Long Night" Moon
is a very appropriate name
because the nights are now indeed
long and the Moon is above
the horizon a long time.
In fact, the moment of the
Winter Solstice
comes just over 15 hours
after this full moon!

Here is something extra for you....
This year nature will treat North American
stargazers to a total lunar eclipse on
the winter solstice during the predawn hours
of Tuesday December 21, 2010.
This lunar eclipse will be visible in all of
North America and the Pacific Ocean
as well as eastern Asia.
Most of the eclipse will be visible
in South America.
During the middle of the eclipse,
the Moon will be nearly overhead
for stargazers in the southwestern USA
 and northwestern Mexico.

ENJOY, my friends!

Later -- Remington --
the Full moon and other stuff reporter
-- out!

I'm thinking your Vikings will be freezing their Horns off!

Gus said...

Woosh...Muzzer says she and Dad remember when football in Minnesota was outside! She says she wishes the Vikings all the luck in the world, and reminds you that in Minnesota, it has to be "warm enough" to snow, so maybe they would prefer that.

gussie

pee ess...she says I cannot stay up to watch the eclipse!

Thanks for the info on the eclipse, we had heard about it from TV.
On my birthday Dec 22th I am going to post a special birthday post for me telling the world how old and what a mess I am. Hope you can come see me that day.

Hi Remington! We won't be watching the game at our house but we just hope everyone is safe - we keep hearing stories here about the field being frozen - yuck! Mom said that no matter who wins it is ok with her - being we are from Chicago but that we have friends in MN - we find it tough to pick a side.

And we think it is cool about the moon - we read about the eclipse the other day and well, we won't see it (too cloudy) but it is going to be very cool for the non-cloudy spots!

Hi Remington! Please tell Ozabella hi and tell her I still couldn't mail stuff because mom's stamp order got delayed to today. But tell her to watch for something from me!
