Farewell Friday....

Well, it's that time of year again to say farewell
to my bestest little friends....

The Hummingbirds....

I have kept your feeders filled
so that if by chance one of you passing
by may need a drink, it would be there for you.

However, it has been two weeks since
we have seen you and now
this weekend the feeders will come down.
I will clean them very well and put them
in a safe place until next May.
I wish you a happy winter
and I look forward to seeing you next year,
my feathery friends.
Later -- Remington -- the Bird Dog -- out!

Rem....funny you should mention that...Mom was out filling our hummingbird feeders last night when one of them whispered softly in her ear...Remington sent me..he told me to stop by your house for R&R as I migrated south. So sweet Rem your hummers are in good hands down here in NC. Mom is a hummingbird nut!!! Since last weekend we have been recording hummer sightings each day. The latest we've had one in Oct. 5. Last year the last sighting was 9/19....

We always worry a bit about Post Titles like this one. But tonight yours made us smile.

A funny thing happened the other day. We've not seen many hummingbirds recently ... but on one of the first times Moma wore her new wellibobs outside in her new garden, a hummingbird flew right up to her shin and hovered ... checking out the boot! It was a really special thing for us ... one Moma wishes she could've captured on film.

They'll be back. We can all look forward to it!
