Stargazer Alert!

This is Remington -- Stargazer reporting....
(kind of like Full Moon reporting....in the same area....)
If you happened to have to go potty late last night
you were probably entertained by the
Perseid meteor shower
Now that is not like a bath -- not that kind of shower.
So don't worry....

In my extensive research I found that
this meteor shower is  icy dust fragments
shed by the comet Swift-Tuttle
as it passes near the sun.
The tiny particles,
speeding at a dizzying 38 miles per second,
sizzle in the earth’s atmosphere,
some leaving trails that can last for seconds.

Here is a picture I found on the internet.
Isn't that cool?
I couldn't get a picture of them at our house
because it was storming out.

If it was cloudy at your house or
if you didn't know about it --
they will be out tonight too!
August 12 and 13 are the best time
for the show I have been told.
I am hoping to see it again tonight.

Also I would like to wish all of you a
Happy Friday the 13th!

I have heard that some people are afraid of this day
because they think bad things will happen to them.
People with this fear are called
Paraskevidekatriaphobics....
that is one big word!

Beth said for her Friday the 13th has
always been a very lucky day.
I guess it's all in how you
choose to look at it.

Enjoy this Friday the 13th
And may you have nothing but good fortune
and a nice evening of watching the meteor show!

Later -- Remington --
What is this?
A four leaf clover?
Hhmmm, it must be my lucky day
 -- out!

Remington, you go outside to watch the sky fall all around you? You are very very brave! Maybe Mom will put in a skylight so I can watch the meteor show from inside my safe house :)

Happy Friday the 13th back to you :)

Remington,

It has been too cloudy at my house to see the sky falling. :( Maybe tonight it will be clear enough, I hopes so.

Hi Remington! We knew about the meteor shower but mom had to go to bed early - and it is tough to see them here because of all the city lights (which makes mom super annoyed by the way). She is thinking she might go drive far out to try tonight though. We hope the clouds clear up there so you can see them too!

And Beth is like our mom - she usually has good luck on Friday the 13th (ever since she turned 16 and got her license on a Friday the 13th it has been lucky).

We hope you all have a great weekend!!

Oh, Gus wanted to ask you to please pass this message on from him!

Hi Ozabella! I hope you are feeling ok!!

Hi Remmy, Miss Cindi Lou and I watched the shower for awhile last night. It was really clear so we so lots of action.

Cindi Lou here, I think it is silly for humans to be afraid of a day of the week. Did you know some people are afraid of black cats like me? I took over mom's blog today and told humans what I thought.

You have it right, my friend, we make our own kind of luck! I kind of like the 13th myself. It was cloudy last night when we went out to see the meteor...we call them "Dad's Birthday Meteors" because they always happen around his birthday (the 16th). We are going to try looking for them again tonight...and while we are out in the dark, I'll give out a howl of hello to you!

Angel Junior, Orion and Sammy said...

Well, we will have to venture outside and see if we can see that shower.....hopefully we don't have too many city lights to ruin the view!
