Remington the Full Moon reporter here....
Keep your eyes to the sky tonight for the
Full Sturgeon Moon.
Full Sturgeon Moon.
What I have found in my extensive research is this is when this large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water like Lake Champlain is most readily caught.
A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because when the moon rises it looks reddish through sultry haze, or the
Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
Since the Moon arrives at apogee about 12 hours later, this will also be the smallest full moon of 2010.
In terms of apparent size, it will appear 12.3-percent smaller than the full Moon of Jan. 30.
This is a picture from the internet.
I certainly hope Mike can get a picture of this one!
Later -- Remington -- howling at the moon tonight! -- out!

Wow that is pretty cool - we didn't know that there was a moon named after a fish. Fish are tasty so we bet that means it is a good moon this time!
Make sure that Mike uses a camera when he's 'shooting the moon'! :)
Great report, Rem; we love the idea of you howling at the moon, sweetie :) !!...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Wow, that sounds pretty darn cool.
How did your Vikings do?
That sounds beautiful! Thanks for letting us know! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Dad and I have been noticing that the moon is getting very reddish at moon rise the past few nights...and know we know why! Remington, you are such a GREAT source of information. Thanks.
