Safe

The word of the day is "SAFE"....
when I looked it up in the dictionary it says....
Safe...
free from harm or risk

I have been just laying around today thinking....
In Zone 3 there are all kinds of wildlife.
What I have observed is that I know when
certain animals are going to be there or not.
Let me explain --
when I see the squirrels, I know that the wild cats are not here....because the squirrels would not feel safe
When people are playing ball at the ball diamond the fox and skunk are not here....because they do not feel safe
AND  when the deer are in the yard -- the rabbits are with them because they feel
safe.
The reason --  the fox won't come around when the deer are here because the fox don't feel
safe.
It was then that I thought about that "feeling" -- of being safe....
While I thought about this I have come to the conclusion --
 we all like to feel
safe
I believe that we all have that
one "extra" special person in our life
that either lives close by or far away
that we know will always be there for us.
Distance is not a factor.
They just make us feel completely safe.
The sound of their voice sometimes is just enough.
We can tell them ANYTHING
and know they will understand
and keep it to themselves.
They will laugh with us and cry with us.
Even when we do something wrong,
they still like us and support us.
That makes us feel safe.
It is such a good feeling....
Later -- Remington --
thankful for that person that makes me feel safe....
-- out!

That is a wonderful post, Remington, and a real point to ponder. I know who makes me and Franklin feel safe. I wonder who makes them feel safe, though? I hope we do.

Very meaningful thoughts, Rem! We do all like to feel safe--it's a very animal trait and all of us are animals.

Safety is a wonderful thing, and too often taken for granted. What a blessing to have at least one person we can be ourselves with and know we are safe with them. You are a very lucky dog indeed to have Beth and Mike, Rem!

This is a great post Remington - and very deep too! We think that everyone deserves to have that safe feeling - we know that sadly that isn't always the case. But we are glad that so many of our friends do have that feeling!!

This is very good insight. Feeling safe is important to all living creatures. Makes me feel sad for some of the animals out there. I know my mama makes me feel safe. It's the best feeling in the world!

Remington, you are such a thoughtful boy! Your post was beautiful and so right. I, too, am thankful for those who make me feel safe. Wouldn't it be wonderful if every single creature had a person and a home where they could feel that way? That is my wish for today!

Remington, What a beautiful post for my first time back! I guess I needed to know that Gertrud felt safe before I came back. She is coming over tomorrow night for dinner. She's not allowed to bring anything. I'm doing all the work. Anyway, thanks for visiting me and being so supportive. I've missed you big guy. You're looking good and I love the photo of you at the desk, BOL, and the one of you in the PJ bottoms, ROTFL, is just way too funny!! Only you can pull that off! And I knew you secretly loved squirrels!! Much Love, Woof! MB, Josie and Blues
