Zone 3

Our yard consists of four zones....

Zone 1 -- the front yard where we play A LOT of football!
Zone 2 -- my flower, herb and Gnome village area
Zone 3 -- the stay out Remington -- it's just for our wildlife friends area
Zone 4 -- Lake Larry, it's the land between our house and our neighbors and it is lower on his side so when it rains there is water -- thus, Lake Larry (our neighbor)

In Zone 3 we have some wild cats (well not too wild) that we provide food and shelter.  This big old tomcat we named Justice....he is not scared of ANYTHING and has the scars to prove it!  He met up with our little friend Skunkae' who stopped by to see if he could get a snack.

Believe it or not no one was sprayed this evening....
Mike loves skunks!   So when his friend, Skunkae' shows up he runs outside with the camera like the paparazzi!  Aahhh Mike, the Skunk Whisperer....

Such is life in Zone 3 of our yard....

Later -- Remington --
thinking it's best to stay AWAY from Zone 3 --
out!

We have 2 zones...Zone 1 is the only place we are allowed to go which is da backyard. Zone 2 is da front and only allowed there with leashes on.

A SKUNK? SKUNK! That is wonderful. We have only seen them in cartoons!
I guess it wouldn't be very pleasant to be sprayed by him, Remington! It's good you're keeping safely away, mawhawhaw!

Remy, please do the right thing and stay away from zone 3! You will end up stinking if you go there! It is very dangerous too! Thanks for warning us all!

Zone 3 looks very interesting and at times I bet it can be rather aromatic. MOL...Mom said she has never seen a skunk in person but she has smelled one...HA!!! Your skunk appears very tame.

Remington you have grrreat zones in your yard. I am glad that you take care of the hungry ones like that. Not one bit surprised though. You are just that kind of caring guy.
Two summers ago I had a skunk that kept coming to visit me. At furst mom was REALLY scared, butt he never ever squirted me. We just walked around in the thicket together. Then one day.. he just left. I missed him, butt mom was glad.

Yes, you had best stay away from Zone 3. It would take a gadzillion gallons of tomato juice to bathe you, and even then, Beth might not want to let you sleep on the big bed.

Remington,

Thanks for the welcome back, I missed you too. Wow, Justice is one brave kitty cat. I am having fun getting all caught up on what has been going on with you while I was away. Oz is getting so big! Mom wanted me to tell you that she LUVS the picture of Jared Allen, even without his mullet!

Zone 3 should be off limits for you! Skunks!! Scary...and that one doesn't spray anybody? Thank goodness. I think that cat better not press his luck and I sure hope you stay away from that zone!!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

My Mind's Eye said...

Rem that is a good question 'cause you see Mango really liked Star...but I think he realized that Star's taste was for a Tall Dark brawny mandog...
so I expect we are exploring our options.
MOL....whatever it is fun...

I wish I could somehow infiltrate myself on zone three. The black and white kitty looked like so much fun. I've gotten skunked by kitties like that several times and so have my sissies. Oz is adorable and you two make the best pair I've see in a while. Ok, so I won't be mailing you one of the kittens we're expecting. You've got your paws full already.

Love the close up of your handsome face Rem!...Those are cool photos of Justice and Skunkae!...Skunks are really cool=they are beautiful and I've read that if you have the spray gland removed, they make awesome pets, very loving and loyal, like lap cats...Have a great day sweet friends...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

I sure hope that zone 3 is far away from the house. And I'm glad that kitty knows that the skunk is not a rat in disguise! :)

Goodness yes I would definitely stay of Zone 3. Seeing how we hate water we'd likely avoid Lake Larry in Zone 4 too.

Wow that is cool that you have zones, and very cool that you have zone 3 for the wild animals. And that you feed the kitties too! And boy, Mike is brave - skunks are cute but you wouldn't see us getting close enough to take a picture!

Hi REmy,
We had a skunk once and he or she did not spray either. He or she did eat some dog food and I thought I would see him or her regularly but have not seen the skink since!!!
Love the pictures!!!

Wowee! That skunk is quite bold with the kitty. We had a skunk in one of our zones before... poor Phoenix had to have about 2148948796 baths after that. BOL!

Zone 3 is a cool idea but I would approach with caution...I am not sure I would EVER trust the business end of Skunkae...Mike is VERY brave!

Dog Foster Mom said...

Remington, you have the best yard ever! Well except maybe for Puddles, because she has a train in her back yard. And Frankie's yard is pretty cool too... but its hard to beat wild cats and skunks - especially together! I think I'd be watching from a very safe distance if I were there.

Scooter said...

Uh yah, Remington, like you I think zone 3 might just be the zone to stay out of!!! Yikes that strip guy is scary!! Oh yah, Mom says Thanks for the card and the bookmark deal, She loved it and is using it already!!!

I think the advice you have given yourself is very responsible. You don't want to have an accidental 'spray' should Skunkae not be fulfilled with the kittycats offerings...

Oh, your skunk friend is so cute! We had a skunk baby here one year. I wanted to adopt him and raise him as my own puppy, but mom and dad wouldn't let me for some reason. Mom got cool pix of him. He was just the cutest skunking EVER and didn't spray her or anyone else. Some man came and took him to live by the lake instead of here in town. Maybe your skunk is ours, all grown up!!!
Tail wags,
Storm
PS: mom said to please tell Beth that yes, she made the quilt and thank you for the very kind words on ammy's post the other day!
