Bird Dog observing....

While out on one of my bird watching trips I observed a robin with something in his mouth....
When I asked Beth about it she said the bird was building a nest to lay eggs in....meaning having little birdies.  She said they use lots of different things to make their nest.  I always wondered why in the spring Beth puts the lint from the dryer out in our backyard.  She told me today that they use that too!  She also said that if I see a nest to LEAVE IT ALONE!  We would not want to hurt any of the baby birdies!  So JUST LOOK -- DO NOT TOUCH!

Mr. Robin found a bunch for his nest....

This funny little chickadee flew on our deck and went in the outside kitty bed (Beth put a bed out on the deck for the wild kitties that come over to eat and sometimes sleep....isn't she nice?) and anyway, it took some kitty fur....funny little birdie!

Here is a birdie that already has a nest built and no doubt has eggs in it already.
The bird is an osprey.  They are soooo cool!  I will write about them again this year in the
Bird Dog Reporting Show.

The nest is on top of a telephone pole.

And just because they are the coolest birdie around, except for the eagle I thought I would show you what one looks like OUT of the nest....

(I got this picture from the internet--but Beth took the others!)

So that's all I have to tell you today!

Birds make nests to have little birds!  I learn something new everyday!

Later -- Remington -- observing birdies -- out!

That osprey looks very big. I don't think we have one of them in our back yard but we do have cardinals, robins and blue birds. Thanks for sharing all of the nice pictures of the birdies.

Hi Remington, I love your bird dog outfit. That is so cute that the birdies even use cat fur for their nests. Mama just threw aways a ton fur she combed off of me. Next time, we'll put it outside. Beth got some great shots of those birds!

I'll be perfectly honest... I can't get into the bird watching thing cause I'm still thinking about your daily banana split. Life is so unfair.

Hi Remington and Beth,
Love loved your bird post!!! I do love and feed the birds just like most animal people do!!!!!!!
My coons are coming in the day time now.
Tom and I have worked on the garden today.
We cut hair today and the hair is left for the birds. Tom cut mine and he shaved his and I shaved his neck.I started cutting his hair 28 years ago and did right up to the time he started shaving it. Tom started cutting mine in 92. We do for eachother!!!

Hey Remsters, we love all the birdie pictures!! You look especially cool in that hat...we just had to tell you. Is that your bird-watching hat? We like those osprey...we think we've seen a few flying around our place, but mostly we have seen other birds. We will try to share some of them with you like you did yours with us...that was soo nice of you! You are the best, Rem!! We love you!! Purrs, Lautrec and Tiny

Hiya Remington! We've seen you crop up on a few of our friend's blogs so we thought we'd swing by to say 'hi'!

Wowzers - those sure are some amazing photos that Beth took, our FH is very impressed. We admit we like to chase the birdies, but we like to chase anything that moves. If the Thing That Moves stops moving it freaks us out and we run away so we've actually caught or harmed anything, we're simply wanting to play chase with it! You're a good boy for just looking at the birdies.

Whoops! We meant to say we've NEVER caught or harmed anything in that last comment!!! Goodness, talk about missing out the MAIN word!! We don't want you to think we're ruthless, unfriendly pups on our very first visit to you!!

Hi Rem,

Now that your mommy has told you about the birds, is she going to tell you about the bees too!

Our mommy says she's going to tell me and Riley about them one of these days. That sounds like a fun story!

I likes you a lot!

Great post, Remington! We've seen bird nests lined with our Sibe fluff - isn't that cool!?!?
Your mom is VERY nice to leave a bed out for kit-cats. Please give her a lick on the nose for me for doing that, OK?

There was a Chickadee trying to get inside our dryer vent a couple of days ago. Obviously she needed lint for her nest!

Those are some really neat bird pictures, Remington. We leave the horses hair out so the birds here can use it for nests. I've never thought of using the dryer lint.
