I would like you to meet Forrest Joseph....

Today I am going to give up my time on this blog and let my kitty brother Forrest talk....Ladies and Gentleman -- Forrest Joseph

Hello, my name is Forrest Joseph. As Remington said I am his kitty brother. So you can get to know me-- I will give you some background. I tend to ramble so please forgive me if this happens....

I am 15 years old. I was born in 1995. I lived with my mom and 4 sisters in a wood pile in West Fargo, ND. We had it pretty rough. There wasn't much food. Mom would go and try to get some from people's trash cans but they would chase her away before she could get enough for all of us. Then one day she was digging away in a garbage can and this lady came outside. Mom looked at her but instead of hollering at mom, the lady went in the house and got a big bowl of food and water and brought it out for mommy. Mom was so happy. This continued for a few days until one day when this lady came outside there sat mom and my four sisters. I was there but I was so scared I hid in the bushes. As you can probably guess the lady was Beth. Each day we got food and fresh water, it was nice. One day her son, Jon, came outside to play with my mommy and sisters and he spotted me. I was still so scared. He is such a kind and gentle soul. Each day he would take time and bring toys out with strings on them so I would play. It took some time but I finally trusted him. You probably want to know how I got my name....well I guess there was some movie out about that time and everyone seemed to think it fit me.  The name of the movie was Forrest Gump.  I never did see the movie but I guess it was a hit. My middle name, Beth said was beautiful like me and it just fit ---so Forrest Joseph it was....Then winter was setting in....Beth said we need to find them homes. So she found mom and my sisters fine homes where they would be safe and loved. She looked at me and said "Sir, I do believe you belong with us". And so it was. I moved into the house and lived with two other brothers named Rafferty and Chandt (they have since left for the Rainbow Bridge many years ago). We all got along very well. Then in 1998 Mike and Beth found another cat that was in trouble. This one was sick and needed a surgery. She was starving, so skinny. They took her to the doctor and she had surgery and was well again. Then she came to live with us and when she walked in the door I knew I was in love. Her name was Keisha. She would become my wife. I loved her with all of my heart. Throughout the years we had so much fun! We were soulmates.  We never had any children, we were just happy with each other. She was a head strong lady but had a big heart. She was, as I called her, my little Angel Girl.  We were happy for so many years....

On January 4th of this year she became sick. I didn't know what to do for her. We tried to take really good care of her, but she was just getting worse. Then in the afternoon of January 6th the doctor came to the house. Beth took my beautiful Angel Girl in her arms and put her on her favorite blanket. I watched from a short distance away -- I had this feeling of panic, but didn't know what to do. I felt completely helpless -- so I just sat watching -- I didn't want to lose her but I didn't want to see her suffer and before you knew it -- she was asleep -- I no longer had my lovely wife. She was not in pain anymore and I was happy for that -- but my heart ached and still does. My Angel Girl was gone.  I miss everything about her -- her beautiful smile everyday, our long conversations of days gone by and laying close to her sleeping.  I no longer have her....I thought we would be together forever and now I am alone.  I tend to cling more to Beth -- because I want to be near someone. It's just not the same.  Remington thought that if he let me do a blog once in awhile it might lift my spirits. So here I am -- and I will give it a try. He is a wonderful fellow. Now I will attempt to write down some of my favorite quotes or stories I have come across over the years. It might not be more than a sentence once in awhile but it gives me something to think about. I hope you will enjoy them....

and that's all I have to say about that....

Thank you for your time, you have been very kind and I appreciate it.

Hi Forrest...I'm Madi a good friend of Rem's and Beth. We've heard about you and are so glad to meet you. Oh Sweet Forrest you are such a handsome gentleman with a story that pulls at our heartstrings. What a luck day when your mom took you to Beth's yard. We were indeed sorry to hear about Keisha's sudden sickness in January. We would love to be your friend...if you ask Beth she might even let you take a sniff of my fur...then you would know me by my scent.!!

Forrest..we are pleased to meet you, and appreciate the opportunity to read your story. It is a shame you and Keisha never had children, for we know they would be beautiful souls, and a great comfort to you. We have lost many friends to the Bridge this year, so we know she had a warm welcome.

My sweet Miss Snickers is there, tell Keisha to look for her. She is a bootiful WFT who likes Kitties. Probably not too many of those around.

kisses to all

We are all so very happy to meet you, Forrest. Your story is beautiful and we do hope that sharing your life a little with us will help you get over your huge loss. When I first came to live with #1 and Tommy, I had a wonderful big brother who loved me and looked after me, and I just adored him. He was only 18 months old when he went to the bridge in January of last year. I miss him still, but guess what? My kits are his half brothers, and so a part of him lives on through them. That makes me happy.

Hi Forrest,

Me & Mom are so sad to hear about your Angel Girl. Its is so hard to say goodbye to those we love, we just had to do it in December when Mom helped Sophie KitTON cross to the Rainbow Bridge after almost 18 years together. It was a sad day, but we know we will see her again in the future.

Keep your spirits up. Angel Girl is happy and healthy again, I'm sure cuddling and purring with Sophie KitTON.

Forrest, it is an honor to meet you. You have an amazing family...so full of tenderness and love and care! I cry at the loss you must feel for your wife but am comforted that she is not in pain and that you have a family that understands what you are feeling. Remington is a terrific brother to share his blog with you and I look forward to reading more of your thoughts. Until then, to quote Khyra's mom, "It is not forever, it is just for now" you and your beautiful partner will be together one day on the other side of the bridge.
