Snow Moon

Tonight there is a full moon.  The full moon in February is called the Snow Moon -- from what I have found in my research it says since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February's full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.

Picture found on the internet....
So keep your eyes to the sky tonight and maybe if it isn't cloudy you will see it!  I love to learn new stuff!  I hope Mike can get a good picture of it!  He did a good job with the Wolf Moon last month!
Later -- Remington -- always learning something -- out!

Great post Prof. Remington you are looking very intellectual this morning. We'll certainly look out for the snow moon it might actually be clear here tonight. You all have a good Sunday.

Very interesting, Remington. We've had quite a bad storm here all day so we're not sure whether we'll actually get to see the full moon or not

I've never seen a snow moon before. It was rainy and stormy here yesterday, but today looks like blue skies and gorgeous weather! Perfect for a snow moon!

The tall guy said he had heard about a full moon before - but it wasn't up in the sky! :)

Hey Dude, I hope we get to see the full moon tonight! I know it's normal to snow up there in the far north but we're in Benson, AZ and it's sleeting! Only 40 miles from Mexico and there's snow on all of the hills around! I wish it would snow! I love playing in the snow, but can't stand to go out when it's raining! Mom says I'm an embarrassment to all Golden Retrievers!
Thanks for the scoop!

The last 3 nights, the moon has been casting a really bright icy light on us. Snow moon, huh?
Remington, the more I read your comments the closer I feel to you. I feel like you're excluded from things you like merely because of your size. Well, I empathize, and not only that, but I have a human bro, just like you in human, adorable, but not an easy life...

So I guess that's why we've had all these storms!! Fortunately, we didn't get a lot of snow storms, just a TON of rain!

You are very smart Remington!

Hi Remington!
This is my first visit to your blog. Did Dhaun White catch up with you? I hear he did well at Winter Olympics!
Very interesting finds in your research!

Hi Rem,
I think you're one of the smartest brothers a guy could have. The moon was so bright last night I saw some deer feeding out in the field and tried to convince Mom I should check on them. She told me to go back to sleep. She sure can get grumpy if you wake her up in the middle of the night, especially if it's because you want to go out and play.
Keep up the research.
Your loving BroLeo

I plan to do silly things today to celebrate the snow moon. And... because I pretty much do silly things every day.
Our mom will try to "shoot the moon" tonight, too. Ha roo roo roo!

I am sad to report that the snow moon did not bring any snow to me. It's actually very nice weather here. It's so warm today that Mom left the door open so I can go in and out as I please. I like that because Steve always wants to be inside and I like to be outside, but I don't like to not be able to boss Steve around at a moments notice, so I prefer when I can be outside but with the door open so I can come inside whenever I want without waiting on Mom to open the door for me.

That was very wordy. I hope it made sense.
